FAQ

Where is your office located?

The beauty of telepractice is location does not matter. As long as you have a computer, tablet, or phone with a camera and strong WiFi signal, you can have therapy anywhere.

But for inquiring minds, I am in Charlotte, NC!

I offer telehealth in the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, California, Virginia, Georgia, Indiana, Florida, and Massachusetts.

What are you hours?

My hours are Monday through Friday 11:00 am to 10:00 pm Eastern time.

The later hours are for those clients in different time zones.

How long are your sessions?

Sessions are generally 30 to 45 minutes.

After your initial evaluation is completed, I will discuss how I can help you. We will have a conversation about how you want to proceed. These initial evaluations can be between 30 and 60 minutes.

15-minute sessions also are available but are used as an opportunity to check in with me once you make progress and no longer require the frequency recommended during your initial evaluation.

How much do you charge?

Teletherapy saves time and money.

Serenity Speech Therapy offers affordable prices for high quality services.

Call for details (828) 548-3155.

Do you take insurance? Why or why not?

We are considered out of network for most insurance companies. However, we are providers for Medicare, Cigna, Medcost, TriCare East, BlueCross BlueShield North Carolina.

For those choosing private pay, this allows us to serve you without restrictions from insurance companies, which means that you don’t need a medical diagnosis or referral to receive services.

There are no limits in the number of sessions you can have. This means that we can truly tailor a program that is best for you without the worry of rushing your care and compacting everything into a small number of sessions.

You will receive quality one-on-one care that you deserve.

You may be able to use your HSA for teletherapy sessions. Therefore, for your convenience, we can provide you with a superbill upon request and submit this to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Contact your insurance provider to see if they cover speech therapy services via telehealth.

No Surprises Act & Good Faith Estimates

Beginning January 1, 2022, if you are uninsured or choose a private pay option (i.e., not going through your health insurance), health care providers like Serenity Speech Therapy must provide an estimate of the expected charges before you receive services. This is called a good faith estimate (GFE).

Providers and facilities must provide a GFE if you request one, or after you have scheduled a service. The GFE must include the expected charges for all services that will be provided as part of the same scheduled experience. The provider must provide a list of all services associated with your care.
